El-- IMO it is significant to both companies. CPQ will be able to better compete by supplying a product that was outsourced without the upfront costs or costs of mfg. They should be able to push a lot of hardware and SERVICES through the partnership.. UIS has a good product but does not have the supporting hardware. They also have great service for their product which may also be outsourced... looks like more business for both and it should come from SUNW and others,,, Software will help drive these sales,,
As to CPQs earnings --- this should add into sales with very little costs,, revs rise as WS loves,,, can CPQ sales staff sell it? That is the big question as I am not sure just how good they are and they will have to know a product not being built in house,,,the mkt is out there! Should be good,,, but as always-- execution,,
