Hello Steve,
How do you view ICGE for the next 6 months, and how would you compare this to CMGI?

Harmon: ICGE may have to acquire big to stay within the SEC guidelines to be determined an "operating company." It's the same problem idealab may have if it wants to go public.

CMGI already bought big with Alta Vista to add girth to its operating assets. Otherwise these firms could be de facto mutual funds and subject to SEC rules.

Of the two I think CMGI has more depth in management and proven winners.

ICGE has a great advisory board and somewhat of a first-mover edge in business-to-business investing. I haven't been too impressed with its investments in that area. No Ariba or Commerce Ones.

Hat's off though to ICGE for being aggressive. CMGI has to break out of the box again even as it continues to assemble its strategy via acquisitions. There are some key moves each could make to hone up market positions but we'll see if they make those moves. CMGI to me has the edge.
