Ontex Appoints New Directors
Toronto, Ontario--
Issued Capital: 39,036,506 Common Shares
The Board of Directors of Ontex Resources Limited is pleased to
announce the appointments of Charles A. Harnick, Q.C., C. Peter
Clute and Laurence D. Marsland as directors of the Corporation,
subject to their acceptance by the Toronto Stock Exchange and the
Canadian Venture Exchange.
Most recently, Mr. Harnick served as the Attorney-General of
Ontario from June, 1995 to June, 1999 and is currently counsel to
MacMillan Rooke Boeckle, Barristers and Solicitors and Ferguson
and Boeckle, Barristers and Solicitors. Prior to his tenure as
Attorney-General, Mr. Harnick was a member of the Provincial
Parliament, representing the Riding of Willowdale and has been
engaged in the practice of law since 1977.
Mr. Clute was formerly Executive Director, Corporate Relations
with the Liquor Control Board of Ontario and has served as
Executive Director in the Ontario Ministry of Finance and the
Office of the Deputy Premier. Mr. Clute worked in the Ontario
Legislative Assembly as Legislative Assistant to the Leader of
the Opposition from 1985 to 1986, Special Advisor to the Leader
of the Opposition from 1986 to 1987 and Principal Secretary/Chief
of Staff to the Leader of the Ontario Progressive Conservative
Party from 1987 to 1990. Mr. Clute has, most recently, held the
position of Special Advisor in the Ontario Office of
Privatization.
Mr. Marsland has held senior positions with several mineral
exploration and mining companies. He has served as President, CEO
and a director of Laguna Gold Company (TSE) and as
Vice-President, New Ventures with MinCorp Limited. Most recently,
Mr. Marsland served as Client Representative with Orvana Minerals
Corp. (TSE). Mr. Marsland is a Fellow of the Institution of
Engineers, Australia and a Member of the Society of Mining
Engineers of A.I.M.E.
