Hmmmm . . . I was thinking more of a violin or classical guitar being practiced upon softly in the background, adding texture from a corner of the living room while I did my homework at the dining room table. I am not very conservative in general, but do generally agree that electric instruments being played badly at high volume with distortion do belong more in the garage or basement.

Before I left there was discussion of some sort of article or research about how even older children's brains are not developed in the way we perceive them to be, that they are still really immature. Can anyone cite it for me again? I know that my daughter looks big enough to make decisions that she does not have the perspective to make very well.

I am relieved to say, though, that she reported that nothing much really happens in the closet in seven minutes!

Wonderful writing as usual, Penni . . . "driving the ivories literally under their fingernails"! I loved that.
