Viterbi article is suspect at best. There are 'Viterbi' statements within the article that only someone who was technically ignorant would say: Today, in the backward GSM system, they can only handle files of 9.6 Kb, and we, using CDMA, can transfer 64 Kb. It's a different world". What the heck does file size have to do with the price of tea in China? Would Viterbi actually say something this stupid? Not in a million years. I've seen reporters misquote (it's a reasonably large problem within the news media (I am looking forward to seeing the SmartMoney article)), but this article is either made up out of whole cloth or the reporter doesn't even have the most basic of reportorial misquoting skills.
