SIERRA WIRELESS INC - Appoints Compaq Canada President To Its
Board Of Directors

Toronto, Ontario, Feb. 16, 2000 (Market News Publishing via COMTEX) -- Sierra Wireless is
pleased to announce the appointment of Compaq Canada Inc. President and Managing Director
Peter Ciceri to its Board of Directors.
"We are very pleased to welcome Peter to our Board of Directors," said David Sutcliffe, President
and Chief Executive Officer for Sierra Wireless. "His senior executive experience in computer
industry sales, marketing and distribution channel management and his international business
experience strengthen and complement our existing Board of Directors as Sierra Wireless focuses on
the convergence of mobile computing, the Internet, and wireless communications." The appointment
is effective immediately.
Mr. Ciceri has led Compaq Canada, the country's marketshare leader in sales of personal
computers, for the last two years. He also serves as a Vice President of Compaq Computer
Corporation. His previous career assignments have included Vice President and Managing Director
of Tandem Asia Pacific Ltd., and Director, Channel Sales, Asia Pacific Computer Systems of
Hewlett-Packard Asia Pacific Limited. Mr. Ciceri is a member of the board of governors of ITAC,
the Information Technology Association of Canada, and is a member of the board of directors of the
Stratford Festival.
