I suppose in 1980, this same Charles King probably didn't think Microsoft proposed any serious threat to IBM. "We are left wondering why this merger is taking place at all," King said. "While the new Corel will have the capability to bring valuable applications to the Linux desktop, we believe it is unlikely that open source applications will ever pose a serious threat to Microsoft." The author of the article should ask former IBM'ers about that statement. Scott
