Well, given personal experience, I found siliconinvestor.com as entertaining as anything I've read on SI for a while. Particularly amusing was all the blather about written warnings, and this one too:
Multiple Accounts 5 day suspension. 10 day suspension.

And before any of the guys come in with some big lecture, no, I'm not complaining, I was actually relieved to be tossed off, what a waste of time it all was. Then there's threatening people with physical harm, but that came later. Fortunately, I didn't stumble on it till months after the threats were made, when it was more amusing than annoying.

Not that I got anything against Bob & Co., it's their website and they can run it however they want. I'm also entertained when people talk about "freedom of speech" vs. the admins, it's not like SI has some kind of monopoly on places to post your thoughts on the internet.

I think the main problem with SI's enforcement policies is that it's far from uniform. People who whine get action, sometimes, if they don't do it too much and play the game right by picking the right context to whine in. Other than that, the admins can't do much more than a random sampling, and what gets noted as offensive is pretty arbitrary.

Anyway, I think SI's real problem at this point is it muchly needs new blood.

Cheers, Dan.
