David Stockman, the fountain of Truth on things Reagan. What he did say, since you brought him up, is that he thought the large deficit was a ploy to forestall future spending. That would be true only if Reagan had not asked for spending cuts to match the tax cuts, which Reagan did ask for.

Apparently you slept through your government classes at Wellesley. The House originates ALL spending. ALL spending. The House was run by the Democrats from 1954 to 1994. The Reaganites had no opportunity to cut spending.
