elcom.com and NABA to Collaborate on Partnership Designed to Market eProcurement to NABA members
NORWOOD, Mass., Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- elcom.com, inc., the wholly-owned technology and eBusiness subsidiary of Elcom International, Inc. (Nasdaq: ELCO - news), and North American Broadcasters Association (NABA), an international, non profit organization whose membership consists of over 40 broadcasting organizations, today announced they have entered into a co-marketing program under which (NABA) will market elcom.com's remotely hosted eProcurement offering, PECOS Internet Procurement Manager to NABA member organizations. NABA represents over 40 broadcasting organizations from Canada, the US, Mexico, and abroad, including traditional private and public networks, direct-to-home entertainment providers, specialty networks, national broadcast associations, leading-edge telecommunications operations, and pioneers in broadcast technology. Under terms of the agreement, NABA and elcom.com will collaborate on a variety of marketing programs designed to introduce NABA members to the financial and operational efficiencies associated with implementing elcom.com's remotely hosted eProcurement solution.

``We are extremely pleased to establish this relationship with elcom.com,' says Bill Roberts, secretary-general of NABA. ``It is without question that the Internet is having a broad impact on broadcasters. We believe that our relationship with elcom.com will provide our membership with access to capabilities and resources that will be critical to their competitiveness. Participation in elcom.com's remotely hosted eProcurement offering, PECOS Internet Procurement Manager, will enable our members to reduce operating expenses by automating their procurement processes and leveraging their spending. Programs like this relationship with elcom.com enable NABA to extend its value proposition with our members by providing access to services delivered over the Internet that reduce cost while enabling best practices in procurement. We expect our member organizations to derive immediate benefits from PECOS Internet Procurement Manager system due to the investment already made by elcom.com with many of the key suppliers to the broadcast and new media market through CBS, one of our member organizations.'

Robert J. Crowell, elcom.com's Chairman & CEO stated, ``This relationship with the North American Broadcasters Association (NABA) represents an important alliance for elcom.com. We are excited by the prospect of working with NABA's member organizations to assist them in lowering their overall procurement costs. This alliance is consistent with our strategy of vertical industry marketing, enabling us to leverage our existing supplier content and proven electronic commerce capabilities with the many suppliers who service the broadcast industry. We see tremendous synergy between our 'Vertical Digital Marketplace' initiative and the requirements of NABA organizations who are interested in aggregating purchasing power.'

``elcom.com is astutely focusing its marketing effort on industries that make large investments in technology products, thus leveraging its core competence within a vertical market that has similar procurement needs and supply base,' stated David Alschuler, vice president of eBusiness Strategies at the Aberdeen Group. elcom.com is well positioned to provide NABA members with a high value eProcurement offering that features low financial risk and minimum requirements of internal IT involvement in the procurement automation process.
