Frankly, though, the credibility of the writer is diminished for me by his obvious bias. Since belief involves credibility, I'm tempted to throw out the whole thing except for the provable numerical data.
Having said that, I found the breakdown of the various retail categories and projected growth in each to be interesting.
The most damning thing about the whole report is the underlying assumption that growing revenues by any means will lead to profitability. Essentially, they hang that assumption on 'economies of scale,' without a serious discussion of what that means to an internet-based reseller of finished goods. In my view, it don't mean much, expensive warehouses notwithstanding. Amazon ain't making the books, you know. |
