<Cree will be announcing a 3 for 1 split in the next 2 weeks. If past results are any indication this should be a huge positive for the stock> What's the big deal about a stock split? Everyone knows that the stock has been doing very well. Just look at the price movement over the last few months. The announcement of a stock split, per se, does not change the value of the company one iota.
