Has anyone considered some of the "far-out there" implications of the my.mp3.com product? It occurred to me that it may kill the portable mp3 player market. The next generation of digital cell phones are going to support bandwidth on the order of 1+ megabits/sec. A typical MP3-encoded song only requires 1/8th of that bandwidth for good quality stereo.

I'm sure that, at first, per-byte charges on the new system will prevent average people from using their cell phone/pda as a remote mp3 player, but give it two or three years and I predict we will start to see flat-rate pricing and that essentially makes it a no-cost option to listen to your favorite tunes anywhere and anytime you've got coverage.
