>>The issue that you are most concerned about, i.e. the SubjectMarks page, was resolved.
Okay, how long is long is "as quickly as possible", Still the same thing. my subjects page still takes over 30 seconds to load, and not the way you suggest.
Don't apologize, just fix it. I think we're all sick of apologies and excuses. Beta has been around for over 6 months, and from what I read, a large number of members are quite disallusioned with it. But you will come back and give some proponderous percentage of members who love it. Why not start a thread where every member(willing) can give a proverbial "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" as to the beta compared to the Dryer's SI? That may dock some of the hostility you guys are receiving.
Speaking of the Dryers, Where is Brad been Lately? Been six months since his last correspondence. He's too nice of a guy to be in "Jill Jail" or "Fort Bob". So let's hear it. did he quit? If so, why? Be Frank. Personal reasons? or a distain for the future road GNET is taking with SI.
As far as canning my SI Engineering team is concerned, I can assure you that won't be happening anytime soon. You are, of course, entitled to your own opinion, but I can tell you that the SI Engineering team is an outstanding group of developers. I am proud and pleased to have them working on SI. And one day, hopefully, you
So if they are so great, how come they have taken over six(6) months to develop this beta thing? Is Russ holding out on the appropriate funds necessary, or are they too busy playing around making new "test" threads? Sheese, how many do we need? there must be over a dozen created by GNET employees, or it that just part of the elaborate plan to make SI a leaner slicker site?
I know my presents will not be missed, but while I continue to stick around, I will remain critical of the goings on of the <cough cough> beta site.
When it is all finalized, I will give it a look over, and be fair and just about it before my departure. But remember, I believe in reincarnation, so I *might* never disappear for good!
*********This is important**********
Why do I have to accept cookies when I sign on to the new SI?
It surely will not benefit me in any way shape or form. What garuntee will you give the membership you will not pull a DoubleClick scheme? If you say "we won't" How about putting that in writing? As Cheeky has suggested in the past, placing such a disclaimer in the Mission Statement might carry some levity with those of us allergic to them.
My deepest sorrows, but you guys have lost all creditability in my book, and I just plain DO NOT trust you any more.
Trust is something that is earned. Words are cheap(just ask my wife)!
If you want my support, fix the darn beta, and include somewhere cookies WILL NOT be used in any way, shape, or form to gather information, and especially to be sold to third parties.
Ironically, My eaddress has become swamped with junk mail, and I wonder how this has come about. I visit very few sites on the web that gather cookies, but every time I login to the beta, I;m swallowing one.
Thanks.
If anything in this post is in error, please clue me in. I don't claim to know much, and my feelings sometimes cloud my preception.
p.s Do you want to give us another "dead line" as to when you will shut down the original SI? From reading various posts, I'd say you are at least another month away. Maybe a little less. But your message that you'll be shutting it down the week of 2/6 was a joke IMHO.
BTW, I understand somewhere a bunch of members received a mass mailing the other day. I did not. Care to share it with me?
pps. and to all those who don't know me yet, here is your chance to put me on your *ignore* feature. I'm still gunning for #1 ignored. |
