Cause it's cheaper, right? You save all those pennies on pins, enabling total system costs to drop. Plus, you save several dollars worth of motherboard sq. in.

Especially on workstations, where lots of DRAM is needed, sometimes a gigabyte or more.

Why, between packaging, pins, and motherboard area, you could easily save $25 on the total cost of the system, maybe even a bit more.

So on a 512meg workstation, the overall cost savings from Rambus will amount to how much?

Ummm.... I think I see a problem here....
