VerticalNet

New York-based LBI Group filed to sell 1 million shares of VerticalNet, a sale worth $246.8 million, according to regulatory filings released Wednesday.

LBI planned to sell the shares on Feb. 10.

Lehman Brothers also filed to sell 113,960 shares of VerticalNet (VERT: news, msgs), which runs online trading communities used by companies that operate at different levels of the same industry. The sale is valued at $26.6 million in the open market, according to the Form 144.

There are an estimated 35.2 million shares of VerticalNet outstanding. The stock rose 9 to close at 206 on Wednesday.
