We were recently looking at products for a new platform. We had a room full of engineers with avg 3-5 years of experience each of the various vendor prooducts (MVIP, NMS, SCSA, DLGC, BRKT, DLGC, RHetorex). Everybody agreed, DM3 is the clear leader. SCSA is hands-down the best bus. S100 is the interface. These were people who are currently using the other products. How many tech articles would you like me to cite to corroberate this position?
You guys can debate the mgmnt issues all you want. The current leaders of DLGC have produced the finest and most forward-looking telephony technology in the market (HW and SW). Rather than take a me-too position, DLGC has demonstrated its leadership in pressing for open and flexible standards. They have left all of the competition in the dust with a very bold move, and one that is going to pay off in the long haul. I hear a lot of people talking about DLGC having good HW but lousy SW. Nonsense. We have been using DLGC products for years. Their code is solid. We have been in beta on some of their new SW prooducts. Again, they are doing a good job.
I strongly disagree that a buyout is the answer. It suggests that there are a lot of short-term players here, looking for a quick recovery of their loss. All a buyout would do, is halt DLGC technical progress, while the 12-24 month transition occurs. Holders may recoup losses, but users of DLGC suddenly find their technology partner at a stand still.
I never look for perfection in mgmt. Only vision and execution. Any tech issue is a wild ride. My condolences to all who have take a beating on DLGC. THis stock is a long-term opportunity. Short-term, any tech stock can be a loser. Study history of INTC. And never forget the adage, "never invest more in stocks than you are willing to lose". I noticed at one person on this thread who was unable to meet margin call and lost a fortune. It is probably needless to say that this person broke every good rule in investing. DLGC has not been mismanaged nearly as bad as this person's investment (Sorry Robert but let's face reality here).
Again my condolences, but guys, if you can't stomach the reality of this market, stick to blue-chips and CD's. DLGC is a winner. |
