Pinnacle Systems and Media DVX Unite to Deliver Digital Video via Satellite To Stations
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Pinnacle Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: PCLE - news), a leader in professional and consumer video solutions, and Media DVX, a leading digital network focused on providing revolutionary solutions for the broadcast market, have joined forces to introduce a new version of the innovative Media DVX service. The new version is now available and is compatible with Pinnacle Systems' MediaStream video servers, allowing broadcast and cable television stations that use MediaStream servers to receive commercials and other video programming in a digital format via satellite using IP multicasting technology.
The Media DVX network gives commercial distribution facilities who need to deliver commercials and other media content to a variety of stations across the country the ability to encode a commercial and then distribute it via satellite in a digital format. By allowing television stations to receive video programming as a digital file via satellite, the service eliminates the costly and troublesome process of delivering tapes to each station. In addition, stations can immediately play commercials received via the Media DVX service without having to output to videotape or re-encode.
