NEW YORK, Feb 17, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- Citi f/i, the online financial service from Citibank and Citicorp Investment Services (CIS), and Onebox.com, the next-generation communications company, today announced Onebox.com as a provider of integrated messaging services to clients of the Citi f/i interactive financial network. Citi f/i and Onebox.com have created co-branded premium services that will be provided to clients of Citi f/i for a period of one year as a benefit of opening a qualifying account with the online financial service. Clients can send, store and retrieve their phone, fax and email messages using the customizable communication capabilities of Onebox.com's premium services accessible through the Citi f/i homepage.
The co-branded services will provide Citi f/i clients with the full functionality of Onebox.com's basic messaging services, plus additional features including a full 25MB of storage, a customizable voicemail greeting and a free local Onebox.com phone number with no extension. Citi f/i clients will have the ability to forward calls from any phone number directly to their Onebox.com number, enabling them to receive all their voicemail messages directly from the Citi f/i site. Current Citi f/i clients and non-account users who visit the Citi f/i site can sign up for a co-branded version of Onebox.com's basic service, which includes 3MB of storage, a service greeting with the user's name recorded and a local phone number with a four-digit extension.
"Adding valuable services such as Onebox.com to Citi f/i expands the range of benefits in our offering and enhances the experience of our clients," said Stephen Joyce, Managing Director of Citi f/i.
A new online financial service from Citibank and Citicorp Investment Services (CIS), Citi f/i is a full-service virtual bank that allows clients to perform daily banking and investing activities on the Internet. Clients have the convenience of 24-hour banking, featuring state-of-the-art security and around-the-clock customer service. Citibank has over 15 years of experience in PC banking, having introduced its first such service in the mid-1980s. Citi f/i clients can transfer funds, pay bills, place stock orders and customize financial reports. In addition, they receive low monthly fees (and low minimum balance requirements to avoid fees), higher interest rates on CDs and insured money market accounts, free online bill payment and ATM reimbursements for cash withdrawals at other banks. "Citi f/i offers clients an interactive financial center where they can manage all of their finances, and Onebox.com's premium messaging services enhances that interaction by connecting clients with their important messages right at the site," said Ross A. Bott, president and CEO of Onebox.com. "As the methods of communication expand to include everything from wireless devices to multiple email accounts, Onebox.com simplifies things by providing clients with their own integrated email address and phone number where they can instantly retrieve all of their messages, regardless of device or location."
Onebox.com will provide Citi f/i clients with their own free personal, local phone number for voicemail and fax and email -- all with no usage limitations. Users can set up a local phone number in any city where Onebox.com currently offers numbers, and receive an unlimited number of voicemails at no charge.
