(NYSE:WLP - news), one of the nation's largest publicly traded health-care companies, was named FORTUNE magazine's most admired health-care company for the second consecutive year.
FORTUNE's most admired list is considered to be an annual ``report card' on corporate reputations. The magazine ranks the top 10 companies in 57 industries. Winners were chosen from the 1,000 largest U.S. companies. The rankings of companies are determined by votes cast by individuals in that industry, board members and securities analysts. The list appears in FORTUNE's Feb. 21 edition and is available through its Web site, www.pathfinder.com/fortune.
In addition to having the highest overall score in its industry, WellPoint was the highest-ranking health-care company in management quality, product quality, long-term investment value, financial soundness, use of corporate assets and social responsibility.
