Expect a 75-99% contraction in share price & or multiple shortly. While these valuations may have appeared excessive in the past, they will prove insupportable with any government control as with government control come costs. When Janet Reno & the President have already begun gutting the current slight Defense budget to have money for financing their control efforts, don?t think the top line of "information" investments will go untouched. If top line growth is checked and reduced by government will the bottom line ever have a chance? As with the infant who is returned to crawling with every attempt to walk, the future of most Internet profit will be destroyed in the first few stokes of a pen!
Those costs, which were first born by ?government? (we the people) in the form of budget line items from general taxes, will become FEES with the first economic contraction. It has always been a short governmental move from fees to taxes & then on to excessive taxes & excessive control. Your time line is already laid out, if not profitable today, will there be a tomorrow? You future has been written by the history of the tobacco, petroleum, mining, & telephone industries ? control equals failure via taxation & fees! How long until you pay for the Surgeon General placing a warning on every web page? When will you be required ?Public Service Announcements? after a number of lines specified by Big Brother are the current TV & Radio Industries?
Why should we fear these small intrusions? We are told the reductions in freedom are for our own good & protection. Where will they stop? How much or little profit will the Internet companies be permitted? Forget it, Freedom is again being sold out to Fees.
