Larscom Joins University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory's HDSL2
Consortium; Company Launches DSL Products, Joins Leading Research and Education
Group

MILPITAS, Calif., Feb 17, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Larscom (NASDAQ: LARS) today
announced that it has joined the University of New Hampshire InterOperability
Laboratory's HDSL2 Consortium. As part of its commitment to providing high-speed
DSL (Digital Subscriber Link) network access technology, setting standards and
developing testing procedures, Larscom will work within the consortium to
advance broadband telecommunication technologies.

Larscom recently launched its new CupreBoss(TM) HDSL2-compliant solution, which
enables service providers and enterprises to take advantage of today's explosive
growth in broadband services. The CupreBoss provides DSU functionality to
connect legacy routers to high-speed HDSL2 services. The CupreBoss addition to
the WANmaker(TM) family of products continues Larscom's tradition of setting a
new paradigm for customers' management needs. The feature-rich management
functions, such as Line Learn(TM), graphical test sets and email alerts, bring
flexibility and management information to the customer of DSL services.

The University of New Hampshire InterOperability Laboratory's HDSL2 Consortium
is comprised of a group of recognized leaders in advanced telecommunications
technologies. These companies are working together to further advance HDSL2
interoperability between multiple vendors' equipment and to educate students in
HDSL2 technology. Other members of the consortium include ADC
Telecommunications, ADTRAN, Inc., Cabletron Systems, Conexant Systems,
Globespan, Level One Communications, Metalink Ltd, PairGain Technologies, Sonoma
Systems, and Teltrend, Inc.

"Larscom's participation in the Consortium further strengthens the resource base
of industry leaders in telecommunication technologies that work together to
advance interoperability and education initiatives," said Scott Valcourt, HDSL2
Consortium Manager. "Larscom's commitment to improving HDSL2 interoperability in
the cooperative environment of the HDSL2 Consortium will assist service
providers and end users to maximize their investment in the HDSL2 technology."

"By participating in this multi-vendor test environment, Larscom will be working
to expedite completion of the standard and to provide our service provider
customers assurance that their equipment will be reliable, compatible and
seamlessly interoperable," said Rebecca Horn, Larscom's Vice President of
Marketing. "This interoperability, combined with the industry-leading management
features of Larscom's WANmaker(TM) plug-and-play products, enables our service
provider customers to deliver high-speed data and Internet services while
simultaneously simplifying installation and configuration."
