re. VLNC, I've noticed that ENER, another battery research company, has a stock that has soared like VLNC. I'm just starting to look into these companies.

The main similarities I see are that both are battery research and both have soaring stock prices. The difference is that ENER has about 1/3 the market cap of VLNC. It looks like ENER is about 1/2 as big, in terms of R&D spending.

Does anybody know why battery research stocks are soaring right now? VLNC was a hot stock in 1992 ... promises of going into production were unfullfilled and the stock plummeted ... now it says it will go into production again, and the stock's hot again, along with ENER, which makes an entirely different kind of battery. Why?

Are there more, besides just VLNC and ENER?
