(PR Wires) PRW: Daw Technologies, Inc. Announces New Projects In North
PRW: Daw Technologies, Inc. Announces New Projects In North America Totaling
$5.1 Million

SALT LAKE CITY, Feb. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- DAW TECHNOLOGIES, INC. (Nasdaq:
DAWK) announced today it has been awarded cleanroom contracts in North
America for construction and upgrades for new projects designated as Class
10 to Class 1,000 manufacturing facilities. These contracts, with a
combined value of over $5.1 million, are scheduled to begin immediately and
complete by June 30, 2000.
These contracts consist primarily of expansion of existing facilities within
the United States where Daw will be responsible for the installation of
cleanroom partition systems, filtered ceiling systems, air delivery systems,
and raised access floor systems.
"While we have yet to see any significant new greenfield projects within
North America, we are beginning to see more and more expansions of existing
facilities," stated Ronald W. Daw, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
"As virtually all of the major chip manufacturers area beginning to
experience capacity constraints, they are looking for quick and less
expensive ways in which to expand their capacity in order to satisfy demand
and maintain market share." Mr. Daw went on to say, "Agility will be a key
to success in this new market. We believe we have a competitive advantage
in our ability to respond rapidly to our customers need for additional
capacity in a very short period of time."
"As the semiconductor industry begins its second year of recovery, as
evidenced by improved sales, earnings, and significantly higher share
prices, it is beginning to more aggressively expand capital spending budgets
for equipment and facilities. It is at this point that we expect to see
increased spending on cleanrooms -- both in new facilities and expansions,
Mr. Daw explained. "Indeed for the first time in three years, it looks as
though we will see a modest increase in our cleanroom sales for the year.
Needless to say, we are quite exited about the prospects of an up year and
are relieved that this long drought appears to finally be over," concluded
Mr. Daw.

This news release contains forward-looking statements that involve risks and
uncertainties. Actual results and outcomes may differ materially from those
discussed or anticipated. Factors that might affect the actual outcome
include, but are not limited to, the length and severity of the
semiconductor industry downturn, decreases in capital spending by
semiconductor manufacturers, cancellation or delays in existing contracts,
increased competition in the cleanroom segment of the industry, customer
acceptance of new products, and a decline in demand for semiconductors. For
a more detail discussion of these and associated risks, see the Company's
most recent documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
