WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 17, 2000--PTC (NASDAQ:PMTC) today announced Microsoft Windows 2000 certification for its Pro/ENGINEER and Pro/DESKTOP design automation solutions. Aligned with the Windows 2000 release, this certification embraces PTC's ongoing commitment to provide enterprise-wide, native support for Microsoft Windows platforms.

The new Windows 2000 installer makes it easier for customers to manage enterprise-wide deployments of PTC products. This reduces the lifecycle cost of ownership and allows broader deployments so more people are able to have a direct impact on product development. The Windows 2000 certification enables PTC products to be more reliably installed and used on the same desktop with other applications, such as Microsoft Office 2000. New multiple monitor support provides scalability that enables engineers to visualize large complex designs more easily. PTC's Pro/DESKTOP also features Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) so that end-users and system administrators can rapidly and easily extend the systems capabilities and build its functionality into other applications.
