Looking over the initial report

The numbers reflect the following statement --- "strong revenue performance in November and December was followed by a slowdown in January purchases as customers transitioned to the new year."

Novell's Server OS sales declined from Q4 175 mil to Q1 154 mil. Directory apps sales also declined quarter to quarter from 89 to 80. This is a surprise.

My $.15 was based upon a lesser decline in Server OS sales and continued q to q directory app increases in revenue.

The fact that we didn't get an increase in directory app revenue can be attributed to lack of revenue from caching and content.

The bright news that I see here is the very clear Business Outlook. "Novell's business objective over the longer-term, is to grow its revenue from Net services software products that rely on NDS eDirectory to support e-business."

That is a clear concise objective for Novell, and one which keeps me a shareholder.
