My two cents is that CNSI is a very promising
and somewhat safe speculation...and I actually
regard it as a long term investment, which
probably isn't a bad attitude to take in this
market where everything is supposed to happen
overnight.

Nature Nogo:
See Nature Science Update--which actually has
freebies...although I do subscribe to the print
(not that I understand anything following news
and views--I just read the summaries and such)
helix.nature.com

Well now I don't see it there, I thought they had
place it in the freebie section. Well, here is
the title again:
Nogo in nerve regeneration
J. L. GOLDBERG AND B. A. BARRES
A protein long thought to inhibit the growth of regenerating nerve axons has at last been identified and cloned. This discovery could be an important step towards promoting nerve regeneration after stroke or spinal-cord injury.

I just thought it was a good example of genomics>targets.

I have seen some negative comments about Christopher Reeves
Teevee spot. Seems like this would be a good time as any
to reiterate the thought that some of these things are not
going to be cured very soon. I've brought up my brother who
has the OCD a few times on these threads (partly hoping that
someday somebody will PM with a breakthrough drug trial or
something). But I think some of these conditions are just
a fact of life, and the best thing one can do is not promote
too much hope--just do the best with what you've got and
help in whatever way you can to help the disabled person--
if they need help. Promsing cures is not useful I think,
my poor brother is going to have to confront and work
like hell to beat back his condition--cures are years away.
my two cents and blabbing...I'm going to catch hell if
they come up with a drug that does whatever his brain
receptors need, and he sees himself archived on the net.
But you cant get help if you don't ask, so what the hell.
