The problem with TKX is that it makes a profit. Almost nobody in the wireless comms sector makes a profit!

An excerpt from yesterday's Globe:

Recently, while on a panel of mutual fund managers that was no more than a technology and e-commerce love-in, I heard a statement so incredible that at first I thought I was hallucinating.

One of the panel members pointed out that last year money-losing Canadian companies saw their stocks rise 52 percent while those showing profit gained just 2 per cent. I thought it was a disturbing revelation.

It gets worse. The manager rationalized that this trend reflected the willingness of last year's technology-based winners to spend in order to build their companies for the promise of returns at some later date. Meanwhile, the companies foolish enough to actually make and show profits were being justly punished for being unwilling to reinvest in their future growth.

Warren Buffett's word of wisdom (a must read):

And yes, I did buy some more TKX (but I also sold SW at 72 and CIC at 103 so WTFDIK?).

Gofer it!
