F5 Networks Appoints Carlton G. Amdahl to Chief Technical Officer February 17, 2000 08:07 AM SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 17, 2000--F5 Networks, Inc., FFIV today announced the appointment of Carlton G. Amdahl as the Company's Chief Technical Officer (CTO).
Amdahl has over twenty years of experience as a senior executive and consultant in the computer and networking industry. F5 Networks is the leading provider of Internet traffic and content management (iTCM) products.

Brett Helsel has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Product Development at F5 Networks. Amdahl's appointment to CTO will allow Helsel to focus on building a strong team and delivering best-of-breed products, while Amdahl focuses on future product strategy.
Amdahl has served as President of Network Caching Technology LLC since February 1999. He was a founder of NetFRAME Systems and served as Chairman and CTO from 1985 to 1996. Amdahl was a founder of Trilogy Systems, Ltd. and held the position of Vice-Chairman and Director from 1981 to 1984. As a founder of Magnuson Systems, Inc., he served as Executive Vice President of Engineering and Director from 1976 to 1981. Amdahl has been serving on F5 Networks' Board of Directors since May 1998.
Amdahl is a Stanford Sloan Fellow and received an M.S. in Management from Stanford University and a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
