You know I thought of something this weekend. One should probably go back and study the history of the railroad build out in the mid to late 1800's to see if there is any commonality in issues, problems, opportunities, etc... After all, these new fiber highways are simply another transportation mechanism. I would be interested in it anyway from just a history stand point. Can anyone rec a good railroad history book?
