Lucky guess Web :o)
How you doing? Glad you were able to cash in some of your options, I remember we talked about GMST, but just assumed you were in the underlying stock.
My intention with GMST is holding through April, maybe early May, then evaluating the general market at that time. I think there is a possibility for a correction or sell-off in May, as fund managers go on vacation. Seems like they always take profits on early-year gains, and reduce short-term buying pressure when they do.
If it seems like the stock will perform well through this period, or doesn't get too extended, I'd be glad to just hold my position for the long haul. I'm still not sure on the merger, not sure exactly how well the business model will generate revenue, and I think there is still some uncertainty that needs to be ironed out.
As soon as this becomes clear, the stock is going to react accordingly. Until then, there is added risk based on current price levels and earnings. Then again, after reading contributions to the thread for 6 months, and discussing in detail Gemstar's business model with someone I truly respect, I have two good reasons to feel very good about my investment.
It would be nice to see the stock perform well. Do you happen to know if Sword maintains a position in GMST, I never have asked him? Better get him on board if not, lest we catch up with the guy :o)
Take care Web, pleasure to see we share another common investment. Now ... if I can just figure out some semi-intelligent questions to ask, eh?
