steve...selling today...

this past month jdsu 200 strikes and below, mostly march, some septembers, initial prem taken in about 160k....can close now for about 100k....

i'm looking at lu, maybe mar55's...did feb55 in late dec, only 40 contracts, took 17k prem in, closed for 4k...

did cpq mar25...100 at 1....

i like to sweep crumbs short term, especially the week of expiration...a few days ago sold feb195 jdsu at 4.....only 10 contracts...but it was there for the taking

like msft, waiting for brcm...seems like i've been able to flip flop jdsu and brcm in alternate months.

i stay away from any momentum issue that does not have fundamentals....

i actually begun selling long positions and replacing with equal number of put contracts in the same issue atm or higher strikes...

volatile market plays into put selling, you'll get comments from lof "what if you get assigned!!!!!", prefer assignment at a lower then market price, rather then holding the bag with worthless calls that i bought. if you are the bull as lof claims he is, then the put selling strategy should be obvious....perhaps too simplistic?

agree with you on glw...rather chase it up with a put sale, then pay an inflated prem for a call....if you do it right, you can capture more then the call buyer!

thanks..ed

p.s....established a long position this a.m. in atml...you like chips...appreciate your comments..
