Why settle if the government wants too much? The only way we will see a settlement is if Microsoft's internal forecasts of Windows2k are far beyond what the analysts think. In that case they would want this headache out of the way. Next time this sort of thing comes up, they will be better prepared.

I bet Sun, Novell and the several Linux companies are shaking in their shoes. Explains why Sun want EU help and why Novell is talking about W2K security problems.
I am not saying W2K will put them out of business. It will definately put a huge dent in the growth rates that are factored into the stock valuations.
