In the aggregate, your example bears little resemblance to reality today. But once again, it requires "unlearning what you have learned" to see if clearly. Sailors and their behavior with regard to language, is simply a reflection of society. The training in proper behavior (which language is a part) if anything, curbs excessive foul language.

You've probably been watching too many movies.
