Barry, >Intel (INTC:Nasdaq - news - boards) will be producing its new networking processor, called
the Internet Exchange Architecture, in full volume next month, just seven months after it first unveiled the chip. Thirty
companies, including Nokia (NOK:NYSE ADR - news - boards), Ericsson (ERICY:Nasdaq ADR - news - boards) and
Lucent (LU:NYSE - news - boards), are already designing their systems with it.

Thirty companies, hard to believe. Also sounds like the new processor is useful in diverse products. Nokia and Ericsson make mobile phones, but do they also make communications systems? Lucent is definitely big into the big ATM and Optical switches, etc., i.e., more Cisco type products. We need a PB or a Ten equivalent from the Internet Exchange Architecture group to step forward here. Otherwise, we'll have to make everything up. ;-)
