Rude:

On Compaq exposure- This is what I thought I heard on the simulcast.

When the TCP-C record was announced, Bill seemed to say that it was done on a Unysis 12-way. But the TCP website shows this to be run on a Compaq 8500 (?), and I think when he flashed the tpc website during the presentation, it must also have listed CPQ as the vendor.

Also, all the mentions of Dell seemed to relate ONLY to dell desktops. That great DDoS demo of Marketwatch showed all those 1000 dells as Desktops.

But your right, the only mention of CPQ seemed to be this little (almost belittle) reference to the Ipac.

IF Ballmer is going to cut off Sun's beach towels, I don't think its going to be with Dell's four-ways.

On the other hand, it seemed that Bill mentioned so many partners and customers that there was a DOJ subplot going on. It could be that CPQ felt they didn't need the server support

--what am I saying????

Thank you for the first hand report. Did you attend any of the private conferences??
