While those posts are a bit much, the Coffee Shop threads usually operate under a looser set of guidelines regarding language. Each Coffee Shop thread basically sets its own standards of what's acceptable and what isn't. For example, the "Joke" thread is full of vulgarities, but it's the accepted standard there.

Where Coffee Shop threads are concerned, I always suggest that if the language that is the norm for that thread is offensive to someone, they remove their bookmark from that thread in much the way they'd change channels if a TV show exceeds their limits.
