Adaptive Broadband Selects Teledyne Technologies for AB-Access Radio MMIC Power Amplifiers
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 18, 2000--Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE: TDY) was selected by Adaptive Broadband(TM) Corporation (Nasdaq: ADAP) to provide 75,000 MMIC power amplifiers for the AB-Access(TM) U-NII band radio.

AB-Access(TM) is a broadband fixed wireless access network for Internet, data, video, and voice applications. It is rapidly deployable, scalable, and spans the frequency range from 2 to 42 GHz. The first releases operate in the U-NII (Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure) band from 5.25 to 5.825 GHz. Point-to-multipoint connections up to 25 Mbps enable high-speed communications within broad service areas.

Teledyne's MMIC power amplifier is based on a proven GaAs MESFET process that offers superior reliability and performance. "We are very pleased that Adaptive Broadband has placed its confidence in our advanced product technology," said David A. Zavadil, vice president and general manager of Teledyne's Microwave Electronic Component (MEC) strategic business unit. "We are committed to offering the best value power amplifiers to the wireless marketplace and consider Adaptive Broadband as a premier developer of broadband wireless Internet access products."
