Last I heard, Lucent was trying to sell Paradyne for around $180m, with GlobeSpan valued at around $100m. There was an on-again, off-again buyer named Elron in Israel, and a VC group out of Calif. that were in there, but I have not heard anything for several weeks. I think it's dumb for Lucent to get rid of Paradyne since Lucent's HFC business is lacking. But Lucent needs to shed the bodies, and Paradyne in not really profitable or barely so, I hear.-db
