Why not to sell if you're currently long:

1) Wall Street loves a turn around story. It's amazing that companies that lose LESS money per quarter rocket up while profitable companies stager on Wall Street.

2) Getting rid of DVD was smart. The word is that Neomagic could not produce it at a cheap enough price. The embedded ram story is pretty much BS, I think. Stop wasting money on unprofitable projects.

3) Neomagic still has some good technology. I was talking to a Neomagic employee a few weeks back. When he informed me DVD was gone I was disappointed, but he seemed very upbeat on digital cameras. Too bad he didn't inform me how poorly the new chips were selling.

4) Major changes will most likely occur. This means either the upper management will get the ax, or a buyout will occur. Think about. If you're a company like SONY why not just buy NMGC for a song. Perhaps, $15/share. Have you noticed that SONY uses ONLY NMGC chips in their laptops. Why is that?

5) According to Yahoo posters, Institutions were buying all the shares that us small fry were selling. What's going on? Do they know something that we don't?

Like you, I sat in disbelief as I listened to the CC. I just could not believe that anyone could be so NEGATIVE about a company. Not absolutely one positive thing was said throughout the CC. Amazing. However, since I still own a few token shares of this company I plan on keeping it. This whole situation reminds me NOVL a few years back. I got tired of waiting and sold that damn stock at $8/share. Now its at $40. I could have made 700%. What a mistake. Microsoft is still eating NOVL's lunch, but who cares? It's all about perception....
