Scumbria, <<No other CPU will match the integer performance of Willamette>> No doubt Willamette will run faster when the pipe is full, but the performance is so much more dependent upon successful branch prediction that I think we may see some strange anomalies introduced by the higher pipe latency. Compiler optimizations will play an even more important role in keeping the pipe primed, and how will pre-Willamette optimized code perform? One thing's for sure - the benchmarks will be interesting.
