Sheesh, James, on the semi-cynical political front, the Democrats are semi honest to what ideals? The Democrats are all over the place. Republicans are pretty consistently pro business, but of course there's always going to be debate about which business they're pro. Teddy Roosevelt was a Republican too, you know. Pretty popular in the public mind, also.

Then, there's the eternal conundrum of free markets, what is the sound of one company competing?

If you'd like a little entertainment on the subject, you should check out the March "Wired", where there's an article about Joel Klein goes to Silicon Valley looking for someone among the "whining billionaire pseudo-libertarian titans of Silicon Valley" willing to stand up publicly for "structural remedies". Closest he got to a commitment was from Steve Jobs, who said he'd do it if Andy Grove did too. Of course, Ellison wasn't on the list, everybody thinks he's nuts.

Cheers, Dan.
