I have serious doubts about whether ET will create any incentive to CLOSE accounts...the number of new accts opened is ETs MAIN claim to fame..In fact ET pays through the nose an average of $150 to encourage account openings and growth in the number of accounts. ET's account acquisition expenditures are killing the price of its stock. Yet even though top management knows this, the board of directors knows this, the stock market knows this, ET continues its huge promotional campaigns to acquire more and more accounts. I DOUBT ET will do ANYTHING to jeopardize account growth. That would simply defeat its primary corporate strategy.
