Alas, John McCain hit the conservative firewall in this weird patch of ground called South Carolina. McCain got 52% of the vote among the NON-religious-right. Ah well, thank God South Carolina is not typical of the nation in terms of wacko "religious"-right extremism, IQ levels and educational levels. On to Michigan, which is much more a slice of real life than the Palmetto State (SC is ranked among the three most conservative states in the U.S. along with Mississippi and Utah). The fact that Pat Robertson (gag) says McCain will "destroy the Republican Party" is reason alone to vote for McCain. Gary Bauer, a religious conservative much smarter and saner than Robertson, and someone I respect, backs McCain. We shall see. If I have to pick between Shrub and Al Bore I'm moving to Europe. ;O)
