The awful thing is what the country is going to have to go through to get back to where that kind of careful analysis means anything.

After the collapse of all these diaphanous nonentities, no one with a sound business idea is likely to be able to raise capital for decades. The South Sea Bubble set back capitalism a hundred years, at least.

I am too old to go into politics, but that might well prove to be more rewarding for those seeking earthly satisfactions than quietly investing.

What a difference three years makes! Three years ago I thought the whole system would just have one of its periodic flushing-outs--and instead we get the biggest stock bubble of all time (when you consider all its dimensions).
