Ruffian: Thanks for the link. Have been very interested in Symbian and have found it difficult to get clear and accurate info on the EPOC features. This gives a good picture of the current situation and what the future may hold. Again shows that the Q was very wise to keep its options open. Once more management excels in vision and practicality. Note the paras following the one you quoted: "Qualcomm's iMSM4100 uses two ARM 720-based 32-bit processing cores: one for CDMA and the other for the user interface and applications. It supports Bluetooth, network-assisted GPS based on Snaptrack's technology, and such media streams as MP3, MIDI, JPEG and MPEG 4. TI's platform uses an ARM925T and a derivative of the TMS320C54 16-bit fixed-point digital signal processor." This confirms for me that TI poses no repeat no threat to the Q within CDMA. And TI has no market for its DSPs within CDMA unless it obtains a Q license. If this is not correct, hope engineer or Clark or someone else will explain why. Best.
