The Lexar Red Herring says,

"We generally recognize revenue upon shipment of our products,
although we establish reserves for estimated returns. Additionally, we permit
some of our customers to return products in their inventory for credit or in
exchange for new products. "

How does Sandisk handle this?
If I recall, Sandisk is more conservative in their accounting practices.
