Hi folks,

I've been lurking here for some time and have finally taken the plunge and paid to join. Thought you might like to know that an article appeared in the Globe and Mail or Financial Post yesterday concerning a survey they'd done of average wait times at Canadian discount brokerages. No comparative statistics were mentioned, just that the average wait time on the phone was enormous, but they did mention that Schwab was not included in the stats because their service was so good it would have been unfair to compare them to the rest ....

Very interesting.

I've just switched from Waterhouse to Schwab, though I have to wait for the account to move (RRSP). Incidentally, I was told by the very helpful people at Schwab that having my account in cash would not expedite the transfer.

I'm just about to deepen my interest in day-trading, having been a successful and avid "week-" and "month-" trader now for a few months - I'm taking the plunge. I have tons of questions about how to set up the hardware (multi-screens), which info services to use, etc., but I expect it's all been asked before. Are there posts here or web-sites that you can point me to where I can get some useful info?

Having said that, I'm thinking of trying out PCQuote Canada's service, with the tie in to Schwab. Does anyone have any thoughts about that?

Many thanks in advance.
