<<Any indication they weren't shipping at capacity?>> The company admitted in August 1998 that they had missed a product upgrade cycle on the line of switches. The commoditization of low end, low interface switching came much faster than they expected. They are now introducing new products like the optiswitch line. In addition, the BIG new products - Red-C, Zuma, Aranea, Metro Fusion, Linux Router, all are nearing the end of lengthy trials, but are not yet producing major revenue. That is why networking earnings have been flat. This will change in another quarter or two. Right now OA is the star.
