Genuine Southland includes the following Tennessee, Kentucky. Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Louisiana with fringe territories to the north and south.
A lot of you folks might be genuine and did not even know it.
Deep South: Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia, south Carolina. To non-southerners these folks are sometimes refered to as ugly, backwoods, prejudiced, dirt-eating.
New South: Influences such as Atlanta, host to the 1996 Summer Olympics. striving to show the world that we can be both southern and worldly. (Only time will tell whether this proves to be our salvation or eventual extinction. Folks have their opinions.)
